With or Without You

It is interesting, as my mother pointed out, that everything changes once there is a baby in your life. "What did you do before Annelise?" Well, I worked. Although work was enjoyable most of the time, this is so much better. I do miss the interaction, but Annelise will grow and soon I will be having 2-way conversations with her. Since this blog is mainly about Annelise, and she is the only one pictured here, I have decided to change the title to "Welcome to Annelise's World".

We did put an offer on a house, but they counter offered. It was just a little too high for us. Before we could re-counter, there was a contract on it. John was disappointed at first, but we are okay now. We have been looking at other options like buying land and building a modular home, older homes, and even a forclosure home. We looked at 2 really nice ones yesterday. God is in control and I know He is will take care of us. We just need to be patient and listen for Him. It is so freeing to know that He is watching over us and guiding us. What would we do without him?

Updates

Here is a quick update. Sadly, Duke lost, but it was a good game. We went to the women's game the following evening and Duke won that one.

Today we are putting in an offer for a house. I am a little nervous. Please pray that God does what is right here. We really like the house, but this is just a big step. It has 3 beds, 2 baths, 1600+ sq ft, a fenced back yard, a nice kitchen and it is on a cul-de-sac. I think we'd be happy there. The only bad thing is that it is about 30 minutes from John's work. But, the closer to his work we get, the higher the prices are. There was another offer on it, but we don't think it was a good offer.

We found another tooth...it is right beside the first one. Her bottom two front teeth are coming in fast.

And finally...the photo contest. I did finally make a decision. I chose #6. I was deciding between #s 4 and 6 because those are the ones people liked the most. #4 was very cute, but #6 showed her face better and she wasn't biting her lip. I had trouble sending over the website. I tried many times. I hope it actually went through.

Tooth or Hair

Almost 2 weeks ago, John and I were in church trying to entertain Annelise while participating in the service. It was John's turn to entertain and baby was enjoying sucking on his finger. John looked at me and told me that he felt a tooth. Although he was really excited and had me feel for the tiny bumps that were poking up through her gums, I was a little sad. I really like having her as a baby and don't want her to get older. I know I will enjoy her more as she gets older, but I don't really KNOW that yet. It was exciting to feel the baby tooth in her mouth, but it made me sad. Maybe I need to have another one so I can let Annelise get older!

As for the hair situation...it is sad. She is getting more hair, but it is very apparent that she has my hairline. Sometimes she looks like she has a mohawk. She still looks pretty bald to me.

John is assisting with a kayak roll session tonight so Annelise and I get to go to a basketball game together. "And who is playing?" you ask. "Why it is the amazing Dukies! How could you even ask?" Yes, Annelise gets to see her first Duke game tonight. We are very excited, but a little nervous also. The game starts at 9pm, which is usually when she goes to bed for the night, so we may have a little trouble. Either way, it will be fun for a little while. Honestly, I don't even know if I can last for the entire game...and I really don't want to battle the traffic jam at the end of the game. Blah! I will be one of the few in the University of Virginia arena cheering for the loathed Duke team. Well...Let's Go Duke!
